The August Hoffman factory was founded in 1929 in Sweden, and quickly established a reputation for fine craftsmanship and design. These days the factory is located in China, a division of the acclaimed Dong Bei piano group, but the August Hoffman tradition continues unabated.

Many manufacturers focus on the cabinet and pay less attention to the inner workings of the instrument, using materials that compromise the quality.  These pianos are often lower in price and quality.

Dong Bei's goal is to develop their business for the future and give their customer high value for their money.

To achieve this goal, Dong Bei has acquired 2 famous piano factories and has invited experts from outside the country to work in the Dong Bei factory for an extended period of time.  These piano designers have implemented their expertise and production methods successfully at Dong Bei.

The factory has imported state-of-the-art machinery to ensure quality finishing and assembly of parts and utilizes high quality material to insure integrity of the piano
